Our client is a global management consulting firm providing world-class expertise in sales force management and marketing issues. Through a powerful combination of analytic methods, issue focus and industry expertise, they have established themselves as the leader in marketing and sales consulting. Founded in 1983 by two professors from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, the firm now employs 500 Associates in 8 offices world wide - five in the USA and one each in the UK, Germany and France.
Whilst they serve a variety of businesses, a majority of their work is in the pharmaceutical and health care sectors. Common projects include: Sales force size and structure, marketing strategy, organisation design, mergers and acquisitions, product forecasting, incentive and compensation systems, data warehousing and micro-marketing. The position
In order to manage existing assignments and achieve their growth objectives they are seeking to recruit a number of high quality consultants. Candidates will participate in teams that solve critical issues for clients' senior management, ranging from broad strategic studies to the development of micro-marketing plans. They will make the recommendations come to life by putting together the plans, people, processes and tools to implement sustainable change in a client's organisation.
Candidates with between one and three years' consulting experience can expect to join as Consultants and those with three to five years' as Managers. They will work with large multinational clients and will need to demonstrate an ability to deal with clients at a senior level. Their work will focus initially on pharmaceutical and health care providers BUT they will be expected to play a part in developing their practice into other industries.
Initially all employees participate in a two week New Employee Orientation programme in Chicago which provides information on basic tools, resources and key practice areas. Continuing on-the-job and organised training is provided at regular intervals.
The ideal candidate
Candidates are likely to have graduated in a quantitative subject and for the more senior role will hold an MBA from a leading business school or a similar qualification. They must be focused on fact-based consulting, applying analytical techniques to enable clients to gain a competitive advantage. Managers will have 2-3 years project management and group leadership experience in consulting or relevant industries. A second or third European language is an advantage.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving and to deliver innovative solutions to clients. They must have good communication and teamwork skills and enjoy working in a pro-active and informal office environment. The growing team of professionals in Europe means plenty of responsibility and the opportunity to take a lead in all aspects of work.
