The Company
Our client is a leading international change management consulting company founded in 1982 in the UK, with the objective of helping organisations to transform themselves through an end-to-end change process. The firms approach to transformation addresses the key components of people, process, market, strategy and IT implementation. This is matched with a depth of experience across a wide range of industry sectors and locations through over 1,000 complex consulting projects.
This new model was developed to meet the emerging needs of clients, most of whom have increasing experience of change programmes and require a greater focus on results, delivery and implementation. The firms annual growth rate has been over 20% a year and they now have offices in the UK, USA; Middle East and Australia. At the heart of their approach is a focus on delivering long term sustainable improvements to key stakeholders. The consultants work alongside clients to help them set direction, analyse their current performance, identify the gaps and then put in place a change programme to close those gaps.
The companys vision is to be the best change management consulting firm by enabling international organisations to achieve transformational change faster and more sustainably than they could on their own.
Since 2001 the firm has been part of a business systems implementation and applications company, which designs, implements and manages business systems that use SAP and other leading technology products such as BroadVision, Commerce One and WebMethods, Data Warehousing, EAI and Intranet Applications. They employ over 450 people and are seeking to expand their business consulting capability by recruiting a number of key experienced consultants.
The Position
In order to manage existing assignments and to achieve their growth objectives our client is seeking to recruit a Human Resources expert at Principal Consultant level for their Surrey office. They will have the ability to design and run a major HR/Organisation design programme that delivers innovative solutions, resulting in a step-change improvement in client performance. Working in partnership with clients at a senior level, Principal Consultants build strong relationships while managing client expectations, maintaining client buy in and reviewing progress and delivery with clients.
In addition, through a real understanding of the HR issues and processes they will be able to lead a process innovation assignment which will challenge the underlying process models of a company or an industry. The Principal Consultant will define and manage the communication within projects and will act as a main point of contact for allocated clients. Working together in small skilled teams with other Change Management consultants an understanding of other areas such as ERP and SAP is advantageous, but not essential.
In addition the HR specialist is expected to take an active role in developing and promoting the firm by supporting other members of the team on sales visits and by being a reference point to other Consultants on HR issues. Principal Consultants are motivated by seeing the broader picture at each client, by recommending "out of the box" solutions, and by energising their client to achieve a dramatic and sustainable change in performance quickly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate
Candidates will have a quality first degree and a progressive career. This will include:
EITHER - three to five years in a respected consulting firm with experience of HR/organisation design, change management, process management, culture change and technology implementation.
OR - several years experience as a HR specialist with big company experience and accomplished at working on large-scale change management projects. A CIPD or CIPM qualification is desirable.
They will have well developed project management skills that allow them to manage multi-site, multi-dimension projects. The use of honed facilitation, presentation and people skills will engender real team spirit within a joint Consultant-Client Team while ensuring that client needs are rapidly identified and addressed in an enthusiastic and encouraging manner. Candidates will be exceptionally motivated and results orientated individuals who are used to making a personal contribution. The sum of their experiences and skills will allow them to quickly deliver value to the client.
Rewards
The firm offers a competitive compensation package plus substantial profit related bonus. Current Principal Consultants at our client take great satisfaction from building and sustaining long term relationships with clients. The medium term rewards for success are promotion to Manager level and then to Director.
