The Opportunity
An exciting position for an ambitious marketing professional who wants to drive a successful and established IT services specialist's global marketing strategy. This newly created Marketing Manager's position reports directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for all aspects of market and product development. The successful candidate will be ready to bring his/her international marketing skills to create and lead this exciting challenge.

Concept Systems is a leading supplier of advanced IT systems, solutions and services to the oil exploration and production industry. They have earned an international reputation for anticipating customer needs and providing tools which deliver dramatic value to their clients in the highly competitive seismic acquisition market.
Concept Systems is a £10m business based in Edinburgh, Scotland, with presence in the USA, China, CIS & Russia and Japan. They employ around 85 staff and were awarded the Queen's Award for Export Achievement. Concept's exceptional reputation for innovation came from their pioneering use of GPS technology to create highly innovative products and a world beating software company. They have continued to develop highly valued products and services for the world's leading oil companies and their seismic contractors.
To increase Concept System's global market development they merged with I/O at the beginning of 2004. The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing and commercialising exciting IT products and services in an international market. Concept is at a key turning point in their history where their expansion plans depend on developing and executing their marketing strategy to their global clients.
Concept requires a recognised marketing professional who can lead their Product Development and Innovation to commercialise world leading products and services that will enhance Concept's and I/O's worldwide reputation. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years experience in high tech strategic marketing roles with emphasis on product and services life cycle management. He/she is most likely to have a relevant degree, marketing qualifications and oil industry experience would be attractive but not essential.
The successful candidate will report directly to Alastair Hay, Managing Director, and will work alongside colleagues who have earned global reputations in the oil exploration and production industry. As well as delivering an overarching marketing strategy for integrating all product and service offerings, the role will also involve working with the Product Managers on their detailed market plans for each product line. This exciting role will also work with I/O's Corporate Marketing to ensure market synergy is optimised between the rest of the I/O Group and Concept.
This is a demanding role that will ask a marketing professional to "take to market" successful existing and new products and services. This will entail "hands on" leadership in all aspects of marketing and the principal duties will include:
· Market research and planning
· Competitor analysis and strategy
· Product life cycle management
· New product development strategy
· New product launch strategy including pricing
· Marketing communications and literature
· Liaison with corporate marketing in Texas
